Dr Nambisan was born in Manchester, UK and grew up on both coasts. She considers Northern California her home. She attended UC Berkeley for her undergraduate studies, majoring in English Literature. She then went on to attend Yale University completing a Master's degree in Public Health in Infectious Disease Epidemiology. After working as an epidemiologist for a couple of years at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and managing the Anti-epileptic Pregnancy Registry there, she decided to pursue her medical degree at the University of Illinois. Her experiences in medical school and in working with pregnant women during her time at MGH inspired a desire to work in women's health in the area of Obstetrics & Gynecology. To that end, she moved back to California for her residency in OBGYN at White Memorial Medical Center.
Dr Nambisan joined the Gill group in 2012. She greatly enjoys working in partnership with her patients to improve their health and well-being , and feels privileged to be able to care for them in every stage of their lives. Her special interests are in minimally invasive surgery and pelvic reconstructive surgery as well as in preventive care.
In her time off, Dr Nambisan enjoys many activities - among them: playing 'superheroes' with her children, playing tennis with her husband, gardening, dabbling in pastels, and travelling. She speaks French, Spanish, Italian and Malayalam, her family's native language.
